How To build Alambic ?
You would like to involve in the development of Alambic ? Or maybe you just want to build Alambic from source to see what it looks like... You will find all information you need in this article.
1. Requirements
You need the following tools in order to be able to build Alalambic:
- Visual Studio 2008 or Visual C# 2008 Express Edition
- .NET 3.0 framework
2. Get source code
Alambic's source code is hosted on sourceforge.net. You can download the last version of Alambic source code at the following address: https://alambic.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/alambic/trunk
If you don't have any SVN client, you can use TortoiseSVN.
3. Build Alambic
You're almost done ! You can now go in the Alambic directory and open the solution (Alambic.sln), and build Alambic using Visual Studio.
4. Try Alambic
You can now try Alambic. Add your favorite music folder to the database, and start using it ! If you find bugs, or experiment crashes, don't worry, Alambic is still in early devlopment. Anyway, you can help us and submit the bugs/crashes in the SourceForge Bug Tracker !
